Monthly Bird Walks

Mark your calendars with the following dates for this season’s bird walks. Most trips end by noon and do not require much walking. Remember to bring your binoculars, scopes, insect repellent, rain gear, snacks and water.

Wednesday, September 11 – Shackleford Banks, NC  – due to tides
October 5 – Martin Marietta Park, New Bern, NC
November 2 – Neuseway Nature Center and other places, Kinston, NC
November 20-21 – Bonus Trip!  Pea Island, Nags head, and other locations.

December 7 – Pamlico River, Oriental, NC
January 4 – Martin Marietta Park, New Bern, NC
February 1 – Mattamuskeet; Pungo, Hyde Co., NC
March 1 – Fort Macon and others, Atlantic Beach, NC
April 5 – Croatan National Forest, Craven/Carteret Co, NC
May 3 – VOA Game Land, Washington, NC
June 7 – North River Preserve, Otway, NC

Carpools can be arranged when we meet up. The planned destination may be changed at the last minute if a special sighting or different trip gives us a better opportunity for birding. Information will be updated with each newsletter.
